Meet Dr. Kylie Simnioniw
My Path to Chiropractic
“I didn’t start out knowing I’d be a chiropractor – in fact, I grew up telling my parents I wanted to be a heart surgeon. When I was in high school, my grandpa went in for heart surgery and sadly, passed away. I realized that I wasn’t cut out to tell families bad news. I started looking more into natural health and options that would allow me to give families hope in a positive atmosphere. I came across chiropractic and knew it was everything I wanted to be a part of.”
Experiencing the Benefits of Regular Care
Dr. Kylie attended Northwestern Health Sciences University for chiropractic school after attending North Dakota State University for her undergraduate education. Her first child was born two weeks before her board examinations, and Dr. Kylie received the benefits of chiropractic care during pregnancy. Her labor and delivery lasted only two hours! ”My body was prepared thanks to regular chiropractic care.”
It was during chiropractic college that Dr. Kylie decided to specialize in prenatal and pediatric care. ”I love working with kids, I loved being pregnant, breastfeeding and the labor and delivery process.” Dr. Kylie had her second child a week after she graduated. This labor and delivery, too, lasted just two hours. ”Because I had these great experiences, I wanted women to enjoy labor and delivery, not fear it. I want to help others have beautiful, amazing birth experiences.”
Keeping Your Family Healthy
Dr. Kylie’s children have all received chiropractic care from birth to make sure their nervous systems are working to their highest capacities. She strives to give expectant moms hope, knowing that they can have a wonderful experience throughout pregnancy and during birth. ”You should be able to have that incredible moment after your baby’s birth.”
Her love of pregnancy and pediatric care led Dr. Kylie to train to become a doula. She has since decided to focus more on chiropractic but works with a network of birth professionals to help our community members plan the birth that’s right for them.
Leading a Wellness Lifestyle
Dr. Kylie has completed 180 hours of training with the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. She has been a member of Epic Pediatrics, an online training program, since it began in 2013. Twice a month she is able to train on anything and everything pertaining to pediatrics. Dr. Kylie is committed to continually learning more to benefit our patients. ”I think it’s important to keep gaining new perspectives and expanding my knowledge. There is always more to know!” Dr. Kylie has extensive knowledge and training in helping with breastfeeding and is a member of the North Dakota Chiropractic Association.
When she isn’t helping families lead healthier lives, Dr. Kylie likes to spend time with her family. She and her husband Cole have five children, Josiah, Emerson, Ahna, Hattie and Felix. Dr. Kylie enjoys reading and working out in her spare time. She considers gardening and having coffee to be her forms of therapy. ”We all have our little vices! It makes life more enjoyable once in a while.”
